Rekha Hospital was founded on 22 August 1982 by Dr. P. Chowdappa, on the auspicious occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi—a day that also marks the birthday of the city of Madras. Established with a profound commitment to serving the underprivileged, the hospital began as a modest medical practice rooted in compassion, accessibility, and community well-being.
What started as a small clinic soon evolved into a trusted centre for healthcare. As more patients sought relief and medical support, and with encouragement from both patients and fellow physicians, the hospital expanded its services.
An operation theatre, X-ray unit, ECG facilities, and inpatient care were added to meet the growing demand. By 1989, these services were significantly strengthened and supported by specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, general surgery, urology and several other disciplines. Each procedure was performed with exceptional skill and care, earning the hospital a reputation for reliability and excellence. Patients began travelling from distant regions, further reinforcing the trust placed in Rekha Hospital. As medical science advanced and patient expectations evolved, the need for modern infrastructure became increasingly evident. Patients sought contemporary amenities, advanced diagnostics, and enhanced comfort. In response, Rekha Hospital underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2023.

Naveen (MBBS, MS, MCh Uro, DrNB Uro, FMAS, Fellowship in 3D Laparoscopic Urology and Renal Transplantation). This new chapter marks a significant milestone, expanding the hospital’s commitment to advanced, specialised urological and andrological care for the community.
